Footloose Friday Returns To Downtown Toledo

From music, the Farmers Market to kids water fights, Footloose Friday cuts loose for its third installment this summer on the Tama county Courthouse Square in downtown Toledo this Friday night.

Sugar and Spice, Linda Johnson and the Marshall County Hangmen are set to play on the bandstand featuring classic rock and country beginning at 5 p.m.

The Tama County Pork Producers will be serving sandwiches, the Toledo Fire Department will provide water fights for kids and great summer produce, baked goods and more will be available at the Farmers Market.

A free admission Asian Show is featured Friday night, Aug. 2 at the Meskwaki Bingo Casino Veterans Convention Center. Doors open at 8:30 p.m. and showtime is 9:30 p.m.

The annual Pony Express Riders of Iowa -Double D Rodeo will be Friday and Saturday nights at the Rodeo Grounds located seven miles north of Toledo on U.S. 63 and 1/2 mile east on E29.

There's lots of exciting riding and roping and a big dance follows the rodeo each night.

Over in Clutier it''s the Bohemian Plum Festival this weekend.

A sneak preview of the locally-filmed "A Place for Heroes" and "Barefoot Becky" headline Friday night.

On Saturday there's a 5K?Run - Walk, grand parade, Storm Seymour entertains, street cruise and more fun activities all day.
