Here’s What’s Happening at the Tama County Historical Museum

The Historical Society and Genealogical Library next meeting will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 7 p.m. the program will be "Naturalization" with Lynne McVey.

Next work or fun day will be Monday, Aug. 19, at 11:30 a.m. lunch will be served to the workers. Last workday, July 15, the worker enjoyed a pizza lunch.

The scavenger hunt continues to Aug. 31 Drawings for the grand prize will be on Aug. 31.

Visitors from Iowa were Dunkerton, Marshalltown, Conrad, Brooklyn, Iowa City, Palo, Waukee, West Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Rapids, State Center and towns in Tama County.

Visitors from out of state were Beben, NM; Murrieta, CA, Austin, TX, Byron Center, MI; Ada, Skokie OK; Pahrump, NV; Farmington, AZ; Midwest City, OK; and Cordina, TN.

And Now You Know....The Elberon Junction, now only a memory, was started when the Chicago & NorthWestern railroad put its tracks west of Elberon and crossed the existing Milwaukee railway. Milwaukee and Chicago & NorthWestern railway is a memory.
