Tama County Sheriff's Office - Jail entrance being rebuilt

July 22, 2013
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

WORKIN'?ON?THE?ROCK?PILE -Construction workers from S.L. Baumeier Co., Gladbrook, not convicts, were hard at it tearing out the access ramp and steps at the Tama County Sheriff's Office and Jail entrance in Toledo Friday morning, July 12. Dirk Henle, Courthouse maintenance supervisor, said the steps and ramp, installed in 1990, had deteriorated and the iron hand rails were rusting off. Cost of the work is just under $24,000. Henle said use of salt to clear the entrance of ice and snow in winter had contributed to the break up of the concrete.
