Jacky LeRoy VanDyke, 75, of Vining died Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Marengo Memorial Hospital from Leukemia. A memorial service with Military Rites will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 29, at the Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, with Pastor Charles Johnson presiding. Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, Richland, Iowa. Visitation will be 4- 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Jacky was born on May 25, 1938, at Richland, the son of Eryl and Edith VanDyke. He and Ila McBride were married on Sept. 29, 1956, at Norfolk, Va.
He serve in the U.S. Navy from 1956-59 and again, during the Viet Nam War from 1961-66. Jacky was a member of the American Legion, VFW, NARFE, Tama county Historical Society and the Society of the War of 1812.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a grandchild, Cynthia Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Ila, sons, Gary (Patricia) of St. Charles, Iowa, Daniel (Marla) of Vinton and Andrew (Julie) of Iowa City; brother, George (Cheryl) of Nichols; sisters, Shirley Reynolds of Cedar Rapids and Kathryn (David) Klaus of Burlington. Also by four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
