Following the long tradition of summer music in Clutier, the Fun Day Committee has been working on what is possibly the most outstanding lineup of entertainment we have ever had.
First up, on June 29, will be the Jim Busta Band with RFD-TV's Mollie B. Two of Jim's children regularly appear with his band, his son Chad, and his daughter, Mollie B. Music was always a family affair for the Busta family with polka the favorite.
Next, on July 13, Mollie B. will be bringing her band to perform for us. Mollie B. plans to introduce "The Moravians", an up and coming group of 18 21 year old men who play traditional music and dress in authentic costume.
Bohemian Plum Festival
During Bohemian Plum Festival weekend, we are featuring Barefoot Becky at 7 p.m. on Aug. 2. Becky also plays traditional music and is famous for playing barefoot. Mollie B. and Barefoot Becky bothperformed in Clutier last year and we were very happy that they were able to come back this year.
During the band concerts we will be serving grilled pork loin sandwiches, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, pop and water. As always, there will be kolaches, and other Czech baked goods for sale.
Food service starts at 5 p.m. and the concerts are from 7 9 p.m.
On Saturday, Aug. 3, Tama County's Storm Seymour will be performing. Many of us remember going to dances when Storm's band "Texas" played. He has gone in a different direction now, and plays more gospel and country music. Storm will perform on Main Street on Saturday, after the parades, at 12:30 p.m.
Last but not least, live music will be playing on Saturday evening from 6:30 8:30 p.m. during the cruise.
Bring your lawn chairs and join us for some good music, good food and great friends. We are looking forward to seeing old friends, and making some new friends during band concert season in Clutier. These events are all sponsored by the Clutier Fun Day committee.
