I wanted to write to ask that all God-fearing people in our community would begin to speak up concerning what is right and wrong in relation to marriage. The reason that I say this is because this current issue of homosexual marriage is not primarily an issue related to discrimination; it is an issue related to moral discernment.
What you are being asked to do, when you are told that you should accept these things and approve of these things, is that you would approve of something that God has plainly stated in His Word, the Bible, is sinfully wrong. The Bible is God's standard of truth. But some people want to call evil good, and good evil.
Homosexuality and adultery are moral evils, not alternative lifestyles. Good people, you must speak up. They forget that God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah because they approved homosexual sin. Many people are using the media to demand that our morals change; that there is no absolute right and wrong. But do not be deceived.
The Bible plainly declares that God does not accept or approve of any sinful person in their sin. Listen to 1 Corinthians 6: 9 "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?" "Do not be deceived." "Neither fornicators (those who engage in sexual activity outside of marriage, or those who live together
without being married), nor idolaters, nor adulterers (those who sexually unfaithful to their wife or husband), nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers (those who speak evil of other people because they want their own way), nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. (That is; they are not presently accepted, approved of, or loved by God in their sin, and they shall not go to heaven unless they repent and believe in God's Son Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins.)
The reason that all people must believe in Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins is because all men since the first man Adam are born in sin; they have a sinful nature because of Adam's sin. God does not create people who are homosexual by nature; it is something that their own sinful heart chooses and loves. The same is true for fornicators and adulterers.
Your sinful heart must change if God is ever to approve of you if you love these sins or approve of them. God so loved the world that He gave His only- begotten Son Jesus. Jesus, who was God, became man in His Incarnation. He who knew no sin
became sin on our behalf, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2
The way forward to God's blessing for our society is by our repenting of these sins and asking for forgiveness for them; asking that God through Christ's death would accept us and change us to love what is right.
