These are exciting times for the Wieting Theatre. The Wieting Theatre has been chosen by the Iowa Supreme Court to be the site for Oral Argumentsto be held by the full court on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 7 - 9 p.m. with a light reception to follow at the Toledo Community Building.
Those Oral Arguments are open to the general public at no charge.
The Wieting Theatre Guild and Opera House Trustees will also be inviting area students of government and other area officials working in law enforcement and legal matters.
I would like to bring all in our area up to date on the operation of the Theatre and the future plans that the Wieting Theatre Guild has for the rest of hte year. The Guild, made up of 14 members, has been able to show a positive cash flow thanks to all the local volunteer help and positive support that they have received from South Tama County.
The Guild has been able to make some payments on the balance of the loan to complete the restoration of the Theatre.
The principal balance on this restoration loan is in the sum of $110,000 and I would hope to cut this amount down to less than $50,000 by the end of this year.
The support of our community has been great and I know that you will do what you can in this local project.
Send any donations to me as project manager at Wieting Theatre, P.O. Box 387, Toledo, IA 52342.
I just recently received a nice donation of $5,000 each from the City of Tama and the City of Toledo (TCDI). Thanks to the mayors and all of the city officials in our fine cities.
Wieting Donation Wall
The donation wall will be completed at the theatre by August 1,2013, and will list all donors as follows:

We have well over 650 donations to list and so if we have made any mistake, please call me at 641-4874-2320.
I want to thank the Toledo P.E.O. Chapter DF for their fine donation to the restoration fund as a result of the fine opera performed at the theatre this winter by Opera Iowa, a part of the Des Moines Metro Opera.
Now as to future live events to be held at the Wieting Theatre and Opera House. Denise Fletcher, President of the Guild and Mary Fasse Shaw, Events Coordinator, list the following:
1. The Old Creamery Theatre Camp July 11-27-
Ages 7 and Up, there are 13 openings left.
2. Others Colorado Group

Thanks again for all your help and support. The South Tama schools have been using the theatre and we thank them. We wanted to restore the theatre to help our young people and to preserve a historical asset in our area. Just wanted you to know that the theatre has gone green and thanks to Razz Recycling we are able to recycle all bottles, cardboard, and papers.
