A public hearing for an amendment to the South Tama School District budget, was held Tuesday evening at the Professional Learning Room at the Partnership Center. The budget amendment was for an increase in the budget from $17,374,305 to $19,197,641.

This increase represented an increase in the area of instruction totaling $563,266; Non-instructional programs increase totaling $50,000 due to increased food costs; and other expenditure increases totaled $1,210,070 for construction projects and bond payments.

According to Mary Boege, this is a change in estimates of expenditures and will be financed from increased receipts and balances not budgeted or considered in the current budget.

According to Boege there will be no increase in taxes to be paid in the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013.

No public comments were received.
