Ethan Channing Kotouc, 21, rural Toledo, faces three charges after allegedly trying to break into the Shopkpo Store in Toledo on May 23.

Kotouc was reportedly apprehended at 11:43 p.m. that night while apparently attempting to enter the rear loading doors at the business while in possession of a hacksaw and Vice Grip pliers.

He was charged with 3rd degree attempted burglary, possession of burglary tools and carrying weapons.

What court records describe as a large, machete -type knife with a 14 3/4 inch blade was found on the bicycle Kotouc was riding.

The charges were filed by Toledo Police Officer Jeremiah Mussman.

Kotouc was released from custody on personal recognizance bond. A preliminary hearing was set for June 5 by Magistrate Richard Vander Mey.
