With summer right around the corner, it's time to think about keeping children eating healthy while school is out. South Tama County School provides free meals to children during the summer.
This summer, meals will be served at the STC Elementary in Tama, STC Partnership Center in Tama and STC Middle School in Toledo from June 10 - June 28 from 11:30 a.m. to 1p.m.
Breakfast will be served at the STC Elementary at 8 a.m., as well.
There are no income requirements or registration. Any child age 3-18, whether a South Tama County resident or not, may come to enjoy a free meal. Adults accompanying a child may purchase a meal for $3. For more information, contact Sandy Jantzen or Mary Boege at STC Schools central office (641--484-4811).
Each year, the United States Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like South Tama County Schools to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Any child under age 18 may come and eat. For more information about the Summer Food Service Program in Iowa, visit:
