A resolution was passed for Tama County to join a 28E Intergovernmental agreement for mental health and disability service network called County Social Services by the board of supervisors on Monday, May 6.
The counties comprising a mental health and disability services region shall enter into an agreement under chapter 28E to form a regional administrator under the control of a governing board to function on behalf of those counties, including Tama County.
This consortion of counties will provide greater equity of mental health and disability (MH/D) services in the region and will provide greater equity of funding services in the region. This will also provide more flexible administration that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of plan administration with limited resources.
Tama County will join the County Social Services consortion by transferring Mental Health and Disability Services fund balance and the current MH/D Property Tax Dollars to the county social services in exchange for equitable Mental Health & Disability services coverage for residents of Tama County, effective May 6.

appointed Pat Johnson, Montour, to the Civil Service Commission. Johnson will replace Mike Nagle who resigned from the commission effective May 2.
a public hearing was set for May 28, at 10 a.m. has been set for a public hearing date for a budget amendment.
supervisorshave received a construction permit application for a hog confinement in Lincoln Township in Tama County. This is in Section 17. The structure is for two new 2200 head shallow pit swine finisher barns and slurry store tank for new swine confinement facility. The animal unit capacity is for 1760 animal units and 4400 head of finishing swine.
a utility permit was approved for KLK Construction from Pella to do work for Farmers Telephone Coop.
