It may seem like a memory now but "record snowfall for May 3" is what the National Weather Service said about the white coating that covered the area last Thursday night and Friday morning.

Others had words ranging from "amazing" to unprintable in a family publication to describe what was a bit of an historic event.

Early on Friday morning the snow turned to sleet and then rain in the Toledo area.

The first of the "summer" Footloose Fridays on the Courthouse Square in downtown Toledo was cancelled due to the weather. The next Footloose Friday will be on June 7.

The Weather service predicted more rain through the weekend and a return to normal daytime temperatures in the 60s and 70s into today.
