Spring is in the air and the South Tama music students will be performing

Here is your chance to hear some of the songs that they have been working on and you will be able to see the many talented students that we have in our community.

Band and Choir com,peted May 3 in Grinnell at the Large Group Music Contest.

The first "home" music event will be a Band Concert May 7 at 7 p.m. at the STC High School gymnasium. Some of the song selections will include Variations On A Korean Folk Song, Symphony Of Souls, On A Hymn Song Of Philip Bliss, and They're Off. The Jazz Band will also be performing. An ice cream social will end the event with end of the year awards being given out along with a senior recognition slideshow.

The STC Choir will perform May 14 at 7 p.m. They will be singing their contest music and a few other selections we've performed this year plus a Broadway medley we've been working on. It will be a night of surprises and fun entertainment. An ice cream social and senior recognition will be held.

The Tri-County Community Band, High School Jazz Band, and Harding Street Singers will be performing Friday evening, May 17, at the Lincoln Highway Bridge Festival in the ambulance bay at the Civic Center beginning at 6 p.m. The Jazz Band will be performing several pieces including "Groovin' Hard", "A Nightengale Sang In Berkeley Square", and "Will It Go Round In Circles".

STC High School and Middle School Marching Bands will be marching in the BIG Parade Saturday morning.

Come relax, listen, and enjoy the sights and sounds of the STC Music Department.
