IJH Foundation receives pair of grants

May 1, 2013
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

The Iowa Juvenile Home has received $4000 from ACT, Iowa City, (formerly American College Testing) to help support the library next year, it has been announced by Carol Thompson, chair of the Iowa Juvenile Home foundation.

The money will be used for books and activities to help students at IJH learn to love reading and become familiar with how libraries work so they will be able to use the libraries in their home communities when they leave IJH.

IJH also received $2,500 from the Tama County Community Foundation for the True Colors Activity Program.

The money will be used for after-school activities in the IJH cottages and also to bring professional performers to campus so students can broaden their appreciation of the arts.
