April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. In an effort to help raise awareness, you may notice the blue and silver pinwheel bouquets that are being displayed around the community. Pinwheels represent childhood in a time that should be filled with joy, nurturing and playfulness.
Child Abuse can be prevented. Preventing child abuse is everyones business. People in Tama County can help promote and support safe, healthy families becoming more aware that child abuse can be happening in your neighborhood.
We can assist in prevention of child abuse and neglect by supporting families to help raise healthy, happy children by encouraging positive interaction, lending a helping to struggling families in our communities and knowing where to refer for help.
Joyce Legg RN for Tama County Health and Home Care displays a pinwheel, one of a number placed around the community to bring awareness to Child Abuse Prevention Month.
