Three counts of possession of a firearm on school property have been filed against Alexander Blackdeer Walker Jr., 64, rural Montour.
A preliminary hearing has been set for April 26 by Magistrate Richard Vander Mey and Walker is free on $5,000 cash bond.
Walker was accused on April 5 of being in possession of a loaded 17 HMR rifle, a loaded .40 caliber handgun with three loaded clips and a loaded 9mm handgun with three loaded clips in his vehicle which was parked at South Tama High School by Tama Police Chief Dan Wilkens.
Court records state ammunition and knives were in plain view in the car and Walker admitted to possessing the firearms.
Walker had been employed as a Title VII tutor since March, 2010. His termination from the position is pending STC?School Board approval according to a school official. Walker is a former chair of the Sac and Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa - Meskwaki - Tribal Council.
