Before Judge Mitchell E. Turner in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Shawn David Sexton, 32, Waterloo, pled guilty to a charge of enticing a minor. In accordance with a plea agreement, he received a suspended five-year prison term and was placed on probation for two years. A $750 fine was also suspended. Sexton was directed to pay any victim restitution.
Because the crime is not a sex offense, Sexton will not be placed on Iowa Sex Offender Registry, according to court documents.
Sexton was originally charged with 3rd degree sexual abuse on April 7, 2012, by Tama Police Detective John Carr.
John Paul Weber, 31, Traer entered a written guilty plea to 1st offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to 48 hours in jail, directed to pay sheriff's jail fees and fined $1,250.
Weber was charged on March 19 in the 500 block of 5th Street in Traer by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Lucas Dvorak.
Jennifer Ann Dunkel, 39, Traer, entered a written guilty plea to a charge of child endangerment - substantial risk. She received a two-year, suspended prison sentence, was fined $625 which was also suspended and was placed on self-supervised probation.
Dunkel was originally charged with child neglect on Sept. 16, 2012 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bruce Rhoads. The endangerment charge was entered on Oct. 4 by the Tama County Attorney's Office.
Jeremy Christopher Carkhuff, 21, Marshalltown, received a deferred judgement on a charge of possession of marijuana. He was assessed a $315 civil penalty and placed on supervised probation to the Department of Correctional Services.
He had pled guilty on Jan. 17.
Carkhuff was originally charged on July 15, 2012, by Toledo Police Officer Dan Quigley.
