Marcella Frances Dvorak, 85, of Toledo, passed away, Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at Carrington Place of Toledo under the care of Grinnell Regional Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, April 8, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama with Father Michael Mescher and Father David Kucera as concelebrants. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery in rural Toledo. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 7, 2013 from 3-6 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with a Vigil Service at 6 PM. Marcella was born on January 11, 1928, in rural Toledo, Iowa, the daughter of George and Louise (Chaloupek) Wacha. On September 16, 1947, she was united in marriage to George Dvorak at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in rural Toledo. Marcella formerly worked as a cook at Bethesda Care Center in Toledo and Mr. R's in Chelsea. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Tama, CCW, Catholic Workman, Order of Catholic Foresters, Carroll Township Homemakers, and Farm Bureau. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards. Marcella was a wonderful cook, especially her noodles, kolaches, and rohlickys which she sold at the Farmer's Market. She always helped other people by taking them to their appointments if they couldn't drive. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, George; one daughter, Debra Mundt; two brothers, George and Edwin Wacha; four sisters, Esther Hlas, Edna Buresh, Rita Hlas, and Hilda Kucera. Survivors include her children, James (Carol) Dvorak of LeMars, Delores Posusta of Toledo, Jerry (Sally) Dvorak of Traer, and Jeff (Rhonda) Dvorak of Peoria, AZ; a son-in-law, Steve (Karen) Mundt of Clutier; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene (Milo) Dvorak of Traer; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established.
