A three-night series of classes aimed at healthy eating and meal preperation will be presented beginnning Tuesday, April 9, and continuing for the next two Tuesdays (April 16 and 23).
The classes are from 5:30 - 7 p.m. at the South Tama Elementary School, 1611 Country Club Dr., Tama. They are free and some great prizes are offered each evening.
Each night a dietician will demonstrate how to prepare a different meal. There will be a mini presentation covering quick and simple exercises for adults and children to engage in.
April 9: Topics: Food labels, portion sizes, and food groups, MyPlate
April 16: Topics: Food safety, healthy drinks & snacks, MyPlate
April 23: Topics: Menu planning, cost efficient purchases, MyPlate
Limited Day Care will be available. You should call Tama county Public Health to register choldren at leats one week prior to class at 641-484-4788.
The classes are sponsored by the Tama County Wellness Coalition, Tama County Public Health, and South Tama schools.
