Dysart Lions Club to host a benefit for Chloe Heitmann

On Friday, Feb. 1, Chloe Heitmann, her mom, Dawn, and little brother, Hunter were in a severe car accident.

Chloe was airlifted to Covenant Medical Center in critical condition. Soon after, she was transferred to the PICU at the University Of Iowa. Both of Chloe's lungs had collapsed, she sustained a tracheal tear, lacerated both her liver and spleen in addition to broken ribs, pelvis and hip. Dawn and Hunter suffered minimal injuries. Chloe is home now with home-based supports.

Chloe is the daughter of Matt and Dawn Heitmann, granddaughter of Deb Elliott from Elliott trucking. She is 11 and attends Union Middle School (Dysart-Laporte City) in the 6th grade. Chloe is doing amazing in her rehabilitation. She is attending half days at school a few days a week. She still has to wear the neck collar and is up walking with a walker.

The Dysart Lions Club will be hosting a tenderloin dinner/ silent auction to benefit Chloe.

This event will be held on April 7, 2013 at the Dysart Community building from 11a-1p. All proceeds will help cover medical expenses and cost of her ongoing recovery.
