The Clutier Public Library and the Czech Point Restaurant and Pub are pairing up for a fundraiser to benefit the library. On Saint Joseph's Day, Tuesday, March 19, come to the Czech Point Restaurant and Pub in Clutier, between 5 and 8 p.m, where
Library board members will serve as your waitstaff, for a bowl of chili and either tea or lemonade.
The chili is choice of regular or spicy and served with crackers. All tips and donations benefit the library.
Money raised will be put aside to help pay for further updates.
We have recently applied for a grant to replace the old metal shelving on the north and south walls. This shelving is not only unsightly, it has sharp edges which is a safety issue. The new shelving will match the shelves built by Larry Sevcik that are on the east wall.
There are several other projects that need to be done in and around the library so any
funds raised will be helpful in keeping us safe and up-to-date.
New books in February included: Alex Cross, Run by James Patterson, Guilt by Jonathan Kellerman, and Ghost Man by Roger Hobbs. We still have a few VHS tapes here for check out, mostly Disney movies. We also have DVDs, audio books, and magazines available.
If a book you want is not available we can do an Interlibrary Loan request for it. We also have public access computers and we are an Iowa Workforce Development access point. You can come to the library for copies, lamination and faxes for a small fee.
The library and its Board of Trustees would like to thank everyone who supports our efforts by your patronage, volunteerism, and donations. We wouldn't be able to function without all of the support from our loyal patrons and the community.
