Before Judge Robert E. Sossalla in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Blaine Charles Carpenter, 50, Waterloo entered guilty pleas to charges of 1st offense drunken driving and possession of marijuana, 3rd or subsequent offense.
On the marijuana charge he was sentenced to a suspended, two-year prison term, fined $625, placed on self-supervised probation for two years and directed to pay a $625 supervisory fee. His driver's license was revoked for 180 days.
For drunken driving he was fined $1,250 and sentenced to two days in jail The court may waive $625 of the fine amount if proof of installation of an ignition interlock device on the defendant's vehicle is provided.
Carpenter was charged on March 10, 2012, in the 2800 block of Iowa Highway 8 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Joe Quandt.
Elton John Roberts, 38, rural Tama, admitted violation of terms of probation on a domestic abuse assault charge and was found in contempt. He was sentenced to 79 days in jail with credit for 79 days served and will remain on probation.
Jeremy Lee Burgess, 25, Grinnell, admitted violation of terms of a deferred judgement on an eluding charge. He was sentenced to 19 days in jail with credit for 19 days served and fined $625. Burgess was discharged from probation.
He was originally charged on Aug. 25, 2012, with failure to stop for a law enforcement vehicle by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Michael German.
Rudy Lambert Papakee, 37, rural Tama, pled guilty to driving while license revoked and was fined $1,000. A charge of operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock system was dismissed.
Papakee was charged on Dec. 1, 2012, at U.S. Highway 30 and Red Earth Drive by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Mark Bear.
Diego Rivera Martinez, 19, Tama, pled guilty to driving while barred. He was fined $625.
Rivera was charged in the 200 block of state street on Nov. 19, 2012, by Tama Police Officer Jason Bina.
Anthony Rodrick Reed Jr., 44, rural Tama, pled guilty to two counts of driving while barred. He was fined a total of $1,250 and sentenced to concurrent 44 day jail terms with credit for 44 days served.
Reed was cited on Dec. 27, 2012, in the 200 block of Business route 30 in Toledo by Tama Police Officer Jamie Youngbear and on Jan. 15, 2013, at 305th Street and Meskwaki Road by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Brian Shimon.
