A Grinnell driver and his two passenger face possession of marijuana charges and the driver, 18-year-old David Lee Miller, has been cited for drunken driving and multiple traffic violations.
According to court records, a pursuit by Toledo Police Officer Joe McMillen began in the 1200 block of Seymour in Tama shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Friday, March 1.
The chase proceeded south, then east on 9th Street to Business 30, east to L Avenue and north to Toledo.
There, the Miller vehicle proceeded west on Ross Street and wound through the eastern residential section before going south again.
The vehicle was stopped at a residential driveway in the 1200 block of South Church Street, McMillen told The Chronicle.
The officer said he recognized the driver who he said had a restricted license and was out of the area allowed when observed. This initiated the pursuit.
Miller was also cited for reckless driving, driving while license suspended, driving left of center and nine stop sign violations.
Passengers in the Miller vehicle, Jim Eugene Pinkerton, 19, and Jacob Charles Willis, 20, both of Grinnell, were charged with possession of marijuana.
Miller was released from the Tama County Jail on March 2 after posting $5,000 surety bond.
