The Toledo Chronicle received several awards in the 2013 Iowa Newspaper Association Better Newspaper Contest Weekly Division II.
The Chronicle was awarded 3rd place for Best Special Section-Editorial-for a Wieting Theatre section; 2nd place- Best Sort News Photo- John Speer- Tama residential fire; and 3rd place- Best Feature Photo - Story - John Speer - Wieting Theatre.
The Tama News-Herald received a 3rd place award for Best Headline Writing.
