Weather contributes to a two-vehicle crash in Tama

Two victims were checked by Tama ambulance personnel following a two-vehicle crash at L Avenue and Business Route 30 on Tama's east side on Tuesday, Feb. 26. Tracy Ann Larsen, 43, Grinnell, was transported to Grinnell Regional Medical Center, but the initial police report did not indicate whom.

A westbound vehicle driven by Erika Lynn Dunning, 16, Chelsea, collided with an eastbound mini-van operated by Larsen, according to the Tama Police investigative report. The accident was reported at 7:50 a.m.

The report says Dunning lost control on the snow road and sideways and struck the van registered to the State of Iowa.

The van flipped and went into the south ditch.Dunning was cited for failure to maintain control.

There was an estimated $4,500 damage to the 1997 Pontiac driven by Dunning and $10,000 dame to the 2007 Dodge mini-van.
