The late December, 2012, death of Peggy Frink Humphreys, brought to mind the local stir over the publication of her husband, J. R. Humphrey's 1961 book, The Lost Towns and Roads of America.
Frink-Humphrey's obituary recounts how the couple travelled across the United States compiling information and photos for inclusion in the book.
They stopped in Tama where Frink and her family had lived on North McClellan and included photos of her family home and the fountain in Oak Park in the book.

J.?R. Humphreys taught at Columbia University and was the author of six books.
