Four face charges in Toledo drug raid

Four persons were charged with a series of drug charges in Toledo on Jan. 4 by Toledo Police after a search warrant was executed at a second-floor apartment downtown.

Ashley Rose Griego, 23 and George Winston Musgrave, 25, both of Toledo, David Michael Whitaker, 25, Eagle Point, Ore. and John Allan Parker Jr., 28, Shady Cove, Ore. were arrested at an apartment in the 100 block of East High Street by Toledo Police Officer Joseph McMillen.

Griego, Musgrave and Parker were charged with gathering where drugs are used, prohibited acts, possession with intent to deliver allegedly having in possession 1.2 lbs. of marijuana and a large amount of cash and failure to affix drug tax stamp.

Whitaker was charged with possession of marijuana and prohibited acts.

Griego and Musgrave were released from custody on Saturday on personal recognizance bonds.

Whitaker and Parker posted bonds and were released after posting surety bonds.

Acting on a tip of an odor of burning marijuana was coming from an apartment at 114 1/2 East High, Toledo, Officer Joe McMillen checked and detected the odor as well, according to a press release from Toledo Police.

Under the search warrant, drugs and drug-related items were seized, police said.

Toledo Police were assisted in the investigation by Tama Police, the Tama County Sheriff's Office and the Mid-Iowa Drug Task Force.
