A prison term and jail time were handed down for violation of terms of previously granted probation in Tama County District Court in Toledo during the last week of December by Judge Mitchell E. Turner.
Derek Roger Anderson, 23, Story City, was sentenced to a five-year prison term to be served concurrently with a sentence imposed in Story County District Court.
Anderson originally was granted probation on charges of prohibited acts and 1st offense drunken driving. He was accused by Toledo Police of selling marijuana to a 15-year-old male on Nov. 4, 2009 and the driving charge.
Probation violations cited included criminal mischief for damages to cars in Ames, alcohol consumption and use of illegal drugs and termination of employment.
Jeramy Breeches Trumbo, 32, Toledo, admitted violating terms of probation and was sentenced to 70 days in jail with credit for 50 days previously served. Following service of the 20-day sentence he is to return to the Lary Nelson Center in Cedar Rapids.
Trumbo originally faced charges of five counts of child endangerment, arming himself against law enforcement with large kitchen knives and assaulting his girlfriend. The charges were filed by Toledo Police on July 20, 2011.
In violating probation terms, Trumbo disobeyed a lawful order / directive, escaped and did not follow the correction center rules.
Upon completion of his jail term, he is to return to the Lary Nelson Center for continued treatment
