Before Judge Sean W. McPartland in Tama County District Court in Toledo on Dec. 6:
Onyale Vantress Hughes, 39, Tama, was sentenced to 30 days in jail with credit for 30 days already served and fined $1,875 on a charge of 2nd offense drunken driving. Hughes received a suspended five-year prison term on a charge of eluding or attempting to elude law enforcement while intoxicated. A $750 fine was also suspended.
He was placed on probation for two years to the 6th Judicial District Department of Correctional Services.
Hughes was charged on Aug. 24 after a pursuit on Harmon Street by Tama Police Officer Jamie Youngbear.
