COLO - Dia Keahna scored 28 of her career-high 34 points in the first half as the Meskwaki girls' basketball team bumped off Class 1A No. 15 Colo-NESCO, 62-57, in Tuesday's Iowa Star Conference South Division clash.
Keahna buried seven 3-pointers in the first half as the Warriors (7-0, 5-0) got out to a 44-32 lead. Colo-NESCO (6-2, 4-1) battled back to within three points during the third quarter and four points in the fourth, but could not get any closer.
Behind Keahna's career night, Kadyn Clark poured in 14 points and Tiana Thompson had nine for Meskwaki.
Caitlyn Riese charted a career-high 20 points to lead the Royals, while Madison Farren had a career-best 17 points to go with nine rebounds. Madison Eley added 13 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals, but Colo-NESCO suffered its first league loss.

COLO - Brandyn Niemeyer's double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds helped Colo-NESCO score a 59-48 win over Meskwaki in Iowa Star play.
J.T. Adams added 11 points and six rebounds, Tanner Clatt had 10 points and Cole Osbun nine for the Royals (4-3, 4-1).
Tyrus Grant led Meskwaki (3-3, 2-3) with 11 points, Terrell Grant had eight, and Royce Timberwolf seven.
