Demitrius Edward Spencer, 21, Tama, pled guilty to assault causing bodily injury. He was fined $315.
Spencer was charged on May 19, 2011, at Cherry Lake in Tama for allegedly hitting a victim in the head multiple times causing pain and injury. The charge was filed by Tama Police Officer Jamie Youngbear.
Daniel Aaron Croskey, 33, Tama, pled guilty to 1st degree harassment, assault causing bodily injury and two counts of child endangerment. He was sentenced to suspended two-year prison terms on each of the child endangerment charges and fined $625 on each charge and suspended, one-year terms for assault and harassment. He was also fined $625 for harassment and $315 for assault.
He was placed on supervised probation for two years and directed to pay a $300 probation enrollment fee.
Croskey was charged on Aug. 12 following a domestic altercation in a County Attorney's Information. The harassment charge stemmed from an alleged threat made to Tama Police Officer Jason Bina.
Derek Lee Roracek, 32, Hiawatha, admitted violating terms of probation and was found in contempt of court.
He was ordered to serve 60 days in jail.
Roracek was accused of missing two scheduled probation appointments, five random drug testings, not appearing for three group sessions and allegedly testing positive on one occasion for marijuana use.
He originally was sentenced on Tama Police charges of operating a motor vehicle without the owner's consent and driving while barred. Those charges were filed on May 21, 2011.
Justin Todd Edginton, 22, Brooklyn, Iowa, pled guilty to malicious prosecution. He received a deferred judgment, was assessed a $315 civil penalty and placed on unsupervised probation.
Edginton was charged on June 1 for allegedly providing false information to cause prosecution of another without reliable grounds. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bryan Ellenbecker.
Chase Lasley Sanache, 22, rural Tama, pled guilty to driving while barred. He received a two-year suspended sentence, was fined $625 and was placed on supervised probation for two years.
Lasley-Sanache was charged on Feb. 27 at Meskwaki and Springs roads by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Ron Pexa.
Jeramy Ian Roberts, 29, Marshalltown, pled guilty to 3rd offense drunken driving. He was sentenced to five years in prison and was, in lieu of, directed to participate in a reality education substance abuse prevention program in either Marshall or Linn county.
He was fined $3,125 and his driver's license was revoked for six years.
Roberts was directed to pay $500 restitution to the Tama Fire Department to compensate for extrication and accident scene supervision.
He was charged at 3224 H Avenue on Sept. 5 by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Bruce Rhoads.
