Before competing in his senior season in which he is seeking a second-consecutive state championship, South Tama's Erik Lux has already decided where he's taking his talents next year.
The Trojans star wrestler will be traveling north to the University of Northern Iowa next fall. Lux signed a collegiate letter of intent last week, just days after starting practice for his senior campaign, to wrestle for the Panthers.
"It's nice to know where I'm going," he said. "It's nice to have it done now."

Lux said the decision was easy after he visited UNI.
"They have a lot of good wrestling partners in the wrestling room," Lux said. "I"ve been up there and the whole atmosphere is really friendly and family-based. I think I fit in good up there."
He will be joining his older brother, Kyle, at UNI. Kyle Lux is a 2011 South Tama graduate who also won a high school state championship for the Trojans.
"It helps that he's there," Lux said. "It definitely helps with getting to know everybody up there. It didn't play a major role, but it helped a little bit."
Lux was crowned Class 2A state champion at 160 pounds at the 2012 state tournament in Des Moines after pinning (5:31) Chase Shedenhelm of Denver-Tripoli in the finals. The win was Lux's 100th career victory and gave him his 34th fall for the season, a new South Tama single-season record.
"It gives me motivation to push myself," Lux said. "I know it will be a lot harder, so I have to work hard this year."
