Enrollment in South Tama schools rebounded for 2012-13 after a drop in the number of students last year.

South Tama certified enrollment for 2012-13 is 1,560.98 according to figures released by Superintendent Kerri Nelson. This is up 27 students from the 2011-12 school year.

Last year a decrease of 68 students or 4.2 percent was recorded.

There are 93 pre-kindergarten students included in the elementary student numbers. In addition, students open-enrolled in and out, dual enrolled and tuitioned out bring the total to the reported number of 1560.98.

The fractional student number is attributed primarily to students who are not enrolled full-time.

In determining official enrollment, students which are open enrolled in schools outside the STC District, those tuitioned out and dual enrolled are counted in the district total.
