Bernice Emelia Wedmore, 87, Tama, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, at Westbrook Acres Nursing Home in Gladbrook as the result of a lingering illness. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Nov. 16 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tama, with the Rev. Michael Mescher and Deacon Joe Behounek officiating. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Gladbrook.
Bernice was born on April 30, 1925, at Parkson, S.D., the daughter of Edward and Anna (Germschmidt) Thelen. She attended school at Parkson.
On Jan. 13, 1945 she was united in marriage to Harold Wedmore. Bernice was a homemaker, housewife and worked at Benco for 10 years. She had lived in Chelsea, Gladbrook and Belle Plaine before moving to Tama four years ago. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Tama.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Harold in 1994, two brothers, one sister and a granddaughter.
Survivors include her children, Calvin (Deb) Mankato, Minn., Maynard (Pam), Gladbrook, Marlin (Laurie), Urbandale, Richard (Joan), Piney Flats, Tenn., Pat (Diana), Belle Plaine and Lori Formanek, Waterloo.
Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, is in charge of arrangements.
