Darlene Doras "Jordan" Smith, 83, of Tama, passed away, Tuesday, November 6, 2012 at Sunny Hill Care Center in Tama. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Rev. Dewey Grimes officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2012 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Darlene was born on January 15, 1929, in Tama, Iowa, the daughter of James and Elsie (Shaw) Jordan.
On June 23, 1967, she was united in marriage to Herbert Glen Smith in Lancaster, MO. Darlene had several different jobs over the years and most recently worked in the cafeteria in the Marshalltown School District. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Darlene loved to fish, cook, and play cards, especially Pepper.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Herbert in 2003; three brothers, Johnny, Bob, and Joe Jordan; two sisters, Leona Miller, and Lucille Jordan; two nephews, Jimmy and Doug Jordan; one niece, Linda Real; one great niece, Jill Tesar; and her beloved baby bird.
Survivors include three daughters, Kathy (David) Hatch of Anchor Point, Alaska, Karen (Terry Schweich) Bass of Morristown, MN, and Jody (Dennis) Bond of LeGrand; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, with twins on the way; her sister-in-law, Lois Jordan of Tama; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial fund has been established.
