Veterans Day will be observed here this year in a series of events beginning Friday, Nov. 9.
A free noon meal for all veterans age 60 and over will be served at the Toledo Healthy Lifestyles Center, lower level, Toledo Community Building, 103 S. Church St.
Sponsored by Hawkeye Area agency on Aging, the veterans will be recognized and provided time to share any experiences they wish. Reservations are requested by Thursday, Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. by calling 641-484-3839.

On Saturday night, Nov. 10, the annual turkey dinner will be served at the Toledo American Legion Hall, 109 N. Main.
On Sunday, Nov. 11, Reinig-Friedrich Post 72 Toledo American Legion and Sons of the American Legion will present the traditional Veterans Day program on the Tama County?Courthouse square in downtown Toledo beginning at 11 a.m.
Kids Corner Daycare will salute veterans with a spaghetti supper from 5-7 p.m. on the lower level of the Toledo Community Building, 103, Church St. Veterans will receive half price meals.

South Tama High School will host a Veterans Day program beginning at 9 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, at the High School Gym, 1715 Harding, Tama. All veterans are invited to attend this salute to their service.
