I have a BA from Buena Vista College in Human Services and a minor in Education and Training. I have been a certified officer for 24 years, all in Tama County. I have been an administrator. I do work as a death investigator for the Medical Examiners Office. I received the 2002 Law Enforcement Award, given by the US Attorneys Office. I'm seeking this position as I feel that its time for a change at the Sheriff's Office. Its time for the tax payers to get 24 hour coverage seven days a week.
Reasons for seeking office:
Its time to handle animal complaints, to provide school patrols, hold fun activities with school kids and law enforcement. Its time for efficient and effective Law Enforcement in Tama County.

I have been married to my wife, Jeri for 19 years. We have 3 teenage children. Brady 17, Taylor 16, and Bryce 14. All attend the STC High School. I'm a member of the St John's Lutheran Church, I'm a member of the Iowa Sheriff's and Deputies Association, and I'm a member of the Tama Ambulance Service.
Certified Peace Officer as required by Iowa Law Enforcement Academy 30 years of service with Tama County Sheriff Office, 12 Years as your Tama County Sheriff, experience in Administrative Responsibility as Budget Preparation, Jail Operations, Civil Process, Management of Deputies, Jailers, Record and Civil Clerks, Sheriff's Reserve. Fiscally Responsible.

It is an honor to serve the people of Tama County as your Sheriff, having overwhelming encouragement and support from family, staff and supporters to run for re-election. I will continue serving the people of Tama County with dedication, fairness, honesty and professionalism, providing leadership with cooperative unified efforts and team work of the Sheriff's office deputies, clerks and jailers so that we can continue providing safe protection throughout the county to the best of our ability. I'll continue to do my best to use your tax dollars conservatively, keeping increases minimal, meeting the request of the Board of Supervisors, continue seeking ways to supplement the budget.

My wife Gayle and I are married 37 yrs, both of us born and raised in Tama
County. We have two sons Adam (Autumn), Brandon (Deanna) and daughter
Danielle (Adam) and seven grandchildren.
Was instrumental in establishing Tama County Sheriff Reserves, Introducing the
Code Red Emergency notification system. Served in the community as Scout
Master for Traer Boy Scout Troop 304 which advanced young men to receive
their Eagle Scout awards. When time allowed was member of the Traer Lions
Club, served on Church Boards. Currently active members with the Prairie Lakes
Church in Cedar Falls.
