Barbara Grassley, wife of U.S. Senator Charles Grassley, and Jane Jech, candidate for State Senator representing Tama County, Marshall County and a small portion of Black Hawk County were present at a coffee hosted by Chloe Ann and Roger Hill in Tama on Wednesday, Oct. 17.
Barbara Grassley was present to back Jane Jech in her run for State Senate. Grassley told the group she had been in the position of backing a candidate for many years, and realized the hard and dedicated work for a candidate to be successful. She congratulated Jech for all her hard work.
Several spoke in favor of Jane. Yvonne Mallory explained the accusation made against Jech for the $40,000 plus spent on an office at the Iowa Valley Community College. Mallory says this money was not spent for an office for Jane Jech but was spent when the welding department was moved to their own building. This old section was then remodeled for use as offices for the college.
