Warns of voter decision

November 1, 2012
Toledo Chronicle, Tama News-Herald

Letter to the Editor:

Democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters decide they can vote for themselves largess from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits from the public treasury. As the result, a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy and always follows by a dictatorship. Alexander Tyler, 1776
