Letter to the Editor:
Years ago (more years than I care to admit) I worked as a waitress at the Hilltop Cafe here in Tama. I knew Bryan Ellenbecker's grandfather, Don, when he worked at Inmans's gas station, which he later purchased. I knew him to be a quiet, serious, hard-working man.
I was also impressed by Bryan's father, Francis, who was then a teenager. He was always working, before school and after school, and did any odd job he could find on weekends. At the age of sixteen, he bought a new Chevy car, paying cash for it.
Bryan appears to have inherited a great work ethic from his father and grandfather. He has analyzed the county's need for law enforcement and seriously intends to provide the change that is needed. I feel he deserves the opportunity to do just that. We need to elect him sheriff of Tama County Nov. 6th.
