STC Agriculture students harvest their crops

South Tama Ag students await with wagons while a combine picks beans on school land west of the South Tama elementary School on Tuesday, Oct. 9. The soybean yield was 35 bushels per acre on the 33 acres planted reports Terri Guenther-Mayer, Ag instructor. Rain stopped the harvest Tuesday afternoon, but it was wrapped up on Wednesday.

Corn is dumped in a trailer during the harvest of 18 acres south of the STC?High School on Oct. 9. The corn crop yielded 110 bushels per acre. The Ag. Department tilled and planted the fields and students then combined and hauled the wagons to the elevator. The land is owned by the school district.
