Tama County Supervisors were notified by Marty Wymore, executive director of the Region 6 Planning Commission learned Monday only one property is eligible for a $303,900 grant application for housing rehabilitation.
Chad Anderson who lives on the east edge of Garwin is the only eligible applicant.
Wymore says there is a fair amount of work to only assist one household as they always anticipate six to ten households. It is a little difficult now to pull out completely Wymore said.
The amount of assistance will be in the $35,000 range and Region 6 will have around $5.000 of general administration costs for the project. The remaining funds will be turned back to the state once this project is completed.
A resolution was passed by supervisors to transfer funds for the assessors office. The Assessors office no longer has separate funds for FICA and IPERS.
Due to Fiscal Year 2012 taxes having been paid to the Treasurer's office there has been money deposited to those funds. The transfer of $306.69 from the Assessors FICA Fund and $400.26 from the Assessors IPERS Fund will be made to the Assessors General Fund.
