The construction site of the new Church of Promise at the old Geneseo School location three miles north of Dysart and a Traer business break-in are under investigation by the Tama County Sheriff's Office.
A door was forced open at the church where thieves took tools and copper pipe some time during the night on Wednesday, Oct. 10.
Champion Enterprises Heating and Cooling on U.S. Highway 63 on the north side of Traer was also broken into by forcing open a door.

There cash was taken and tools were piled up but left. Authorities believe the thieves may have been frightened off before they could load up the equipment.
That burglary occurred during the night of Thursday, Oct. 11. It was not immediately determined if both incidents were related.
