NEWS RELEASE ISSUED BY MARSHALLTOWN POLICE: On Thursday October 11th 2012 at 10:24 P.M. the Marshalltown Police Department and Marshall County Sheriffs Department were dispatched to the 2800 mile of 240th St. (Hwy 30) for a single vehicle crash.
When officers arrived they discovered a White Acura passenger car had been travelling east on Hwy 30 just past the 18th entrance ramp had lost control and left the roadway ejecting the driver and passenger.
Tyrus Raymond Wanatee 29 yrs old of Tama, Iowa was pronounced dead at the scene by Marshall County Medical Examiner Dr. David Bethel.

Keenan Lee Bear 23 yrs old of Tama, Iowa was life flighted to Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines.
