Chelsea Postmaster Sheryl Chute retires; Jackie Dvorak named Officer-In-Charge

Chelsea Postmaster Sheryl Chute retired on Oct. 1 after 34 years of service. Jackie Dvorak, Chelsea, has been named Officer In-Charge at Chelsea.

Connie Smith, Tama, is the new Postmaster Leave Replacement at Chelsea.

Sheryl started her Postal Career as a City Letter Carrier in Cedar Rapids in July, 1979. She worked in Personnel for several years, first as a Confidential Secretary and then as a Personnel Assistant.

She was promoted to Account Representative in the Marketing Department in 1988 when Cedar Rapids was a Management Sectional Center.

Sheryl was an Officer-In-Charge at the Victor Post Office in early 1992 and became the Postmaster at Dysart in January of 1993.

She held that position until she became Postmaster at Chelsea in 2000.

Valerie Behounek started with the Post Office in February, 1994, as the Postmaster Leave Replacement in Chelsea, a position she held through Oct. 1, of this year.

She also served as Office-In-Charge at Elberon from February, 2004 through June, 2008.
