The political action committee of the Iowa Association of Business and Industry (ABI) has announced the "Friend of Iowa Business" endorsements for 2012.

State Senator Steve Sodders (D-State Center) is one of 10 incumbents in the Iowa senate receiving endorsements. Sodders is seeking reelection to the newly formed 36th District which includes Tama, and portions of Marshall and Black Hawk counties.

ABI is the state's oldest and largest business association representing over 1,400 member companies. Candidates are evaluated based on his/her support for a competitive business climate with a focus on creating Iowa jobs. Criteria used to make the designations include the candidates' positions on issues based on questionnaire responses, interviews, and their stated approach to general business community concerns, voting records for incumbent candidates, as well as input from ABI members and IIPAC contributors.

"ABI and IIPAC strive to identify candidates for the legislature on both sides of the aisle that understand and appreciate the challenges businesses are up against on a daily basis. "We want to thank them for participating in this process by running for office and look forward to working with them next session to deliver even better employment opportunities and in turn a better future for our state," Ralston continued.

As "The Voice of Iowa Business Since 1903", ABI serves as the Iowa State Chamber of Commerce and works to enhance the Iowa business climate to foster growth and prosperity for all Iowans.
