On Sept. 17, the South Tama junior varsity football team improved to hosted Newton at home and won 34-12.
Sophomore Dalton Doyle threw a pair of touchdown passes in the game. He completed the scores to sophomore Grant Koch and senior Brad Evans.
Defensively, senior Daryl Bidwell grabbed two interceptions and returned one for an 80-yard touchdown. Junior Dalton Vest led the Trojans with 10 tackles on the night.
