The victim found inside a home which burned in Garwin early Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, has been identified as John Edward Roberts, 53, by Tama County Medical Examiner Dr. Dennis Mallory. An autoposy was being conducted on Wednesday morning.
Dr. Mallory said investigation in to the death is continuing by the State Fire Marshal, State and Tama County Medical Examiners and Tama County Sheriff's Office.
The home at 519 Maple Street was described as a two-story frame home.
Roberts body was found in a back bedroom by Garwin firefighters who extinguished the blaze, Mallory said.
