Before Judge Robert E. Sosalla in Tama County District Court in Toledo:
Ekoukou Materania,25, Ames, pled guilty to driving while barred and speeding 80 mph in a 55 zone. He was fined $625 on the driving charge and $80 for speeding.
Materania was charged on July 16 on U.S. Highway 30 near V Avenue by State Trooper Matt Schuenn.
Dennis Lee Burton, 63, West Fargo, N.D., pled guilty to 3rd degree theft. He was sentenced to 60 days in jail to be served concurrently with a sentence being served in South Dakota. A fine of $625 was suspended.
He was directed to pay restitution of $1,850 to Ray Sells, rural Toledo.
Burton was originally charged on Oct. 13, 2011, with theft by deception for allegedly contracting to repair and outbuilding for Sells and being paid for materials which were not delivered. The charge was filed by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Michael Wright.
BrentonElliot Pushetonequa, 36, rural Tama, pled guilty to driving while barred. He was fined $625, received a suspended, two-year prison sentence and was placed on unsupervised probation for two years.
Pushetonequa was charged on Feb. 17 at the Meskwaki Trading Post by Meskwaki Nation Tribal Police Officer Brian Shimon.
Seth Michael Seda, 30, Virginia Beach, Va., was fined $1,250 and sentenced to 48 hours in jail with credit for time served on a charge of 1st offense drunken driving. He pled guilty on July 6. He was also directed to complete a drinking drivers program.
Seda was charged on Dec. 24, 2011, at Taylor and Elm streets in Traer by Tama County Deputy Sheriff Lucas Dvorak.
