On Monday, Sept. 10, a very special fitness class will be up and running. You will have seven sessions where you will use up calories, tone your muscles, increase your energy level, decrease your aches and pains and enjoy yourself while you do it. Sandy Dirks will lead the exercise class, and she has geared it for folks over 50, so that the exercises and their intensity will improve your health but not cause you discomfort.
If you want to improve your health and lift your spirits, come to the Tama Civic Center on seven Mondays from Sept. 10 through Oct. 22. The sessions will be from 6:30-7 p.m. and the cost is $41.
On Tuesday, Sept. 11, we will repeat a very popular class. We will visit a pioneer cemetery and learn how to douse for graves. Steve Meyer, who is active in cemetery restoration and genealogy, will illustrate dousing, and you will have your own experience in dousing.
Invariably, people who learn from Steve are fascinated by the experience. We will meet at the King Tower parking lot on the east edge of Tama at 6:30 p.m. and travel to the cemetery.
The rain date is 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 15 and also meet at the King Tower Parking lot.
Please be on time. If for some reason you know you are running late, call 641-414-4895 and get directions to the cemetery. Cost of this class is $18.
